LifeVac Airway Clearance Device

LifeVac Airway Clearance Device

$116.25

(LifeVac)

LifeVac is a simple Airway Clearance Device that can be used to save the life of a friend, family member, or colleague in the event of a choking emergency. It is currently implemented in schools, restaurants, fire departments, police departments, and EMS agencies across the world.

Did you know that there are over 5,000 choking deaths a year?

  • According to the National Safety Council, choking is the fourth most common cause of unintentional injury death and it is completely preventable.
  • The most obvious risk of choking is death. However, irreversible brain damage caused by lack of oxygen to the brain sets in after only 4-6 minutes.

LifeVac is the ONLY portable, non-invasive airway clearance device that is registered and regulated by Health Canada as a Class 1 suction device and is also peer-reviewed by the medical industry.

LifeVac uses a patented design that includes a one-way valve system which means that when applied, air vents outside the unit and does not push air into the victim. The rescue device simply uses a short burst of suction, with minimal air volume, to mimic a forceful cough. When the handle of the plunger is pushed down, air escapes out the sides of the valve; when the plunger handle is pulled back, negative pressure is generated, and it suctions out the lodged material. LifeVac is supported by a growing number of peer-reviewed medical studies and expert opinions that validate it as a credible option to clear a blocked airway. We strongly believe that LifeVac is an essential piece of safety equipment that can assist lay people and First Responders in choking-related emergencies.

LifeVac is intended to be used after other BLS protocols have failed. However, many times it is impossible to perform BLS protocols on a choking victim for various reasons including the physical size of the individual and the rescuer, as well as the condition of each of the participants. For example, for many in a wheelchair, current choking protocols simply cannot be performed. However, LifeVac levels the playing field and is a viable option for all.

Currently LifeVac has documented over 1000 successful saves and is licensed and distributed in over 25 countries.
